Freetrade Closes Crowdfunding Round at Over £4 Million

Fintech Freetrade closed their crowdfunding round on Crowdcube yesterday raising £4,031,500 from 5039 investors. This is the 5th time Freetrade has crowdfunded on Crowdcube having raised £3.1 million in 2018.

Freetrade is an FCA regulated digital stockbroker. Available in the UK, Freetrade will be expanding into continental Europe soon. Ireland will be the first new country followed by France, Germany and the Netherlands.

Freetrade states the new funding will be used to grow their engineering team and accelerate their development of the investment platform.

Freetrade earned a bit of infamy when the offering caused the Crowdcube platform to crash back in May. Crowdcube’s servers were, in part, overwhelmed by investor interest.

Freetrade is now one of the top UK crowdfunded issuers so far in 2019.
